No training wheels...

Sydney hasn't always been the biggest fan of her bike.  As a matter of fact she received it for her third bday and didn't even touch it until she was 4 - just didn't appeal to her.
I really assumed that eventually she'd either get into it or not - Didn't matter to me one way or the other.  But when we were looking at bikes for Casey's birthday Sydney started questioning when she would learn to ride without training wheels and we seized the opportunity!

Although her bike is REALLY small for her we took off the training wheels and turned her loose.  Seriously within 15 minutes she had it figured out pretty good and I was so proud of her.

At first a little wobbly and then after a little break she was off...

My baby is 3...

Monday, April 19, 2010

Kisses for everyone from the Birthday Girl!!!

Wow!  Not sure where to start because this is extremely bittersweet for me.  When Sydney turned 3 I had a newborn, was trying to sell a home and although I reflect each year older they get it just didn't hit me as hard as Casey's 3rd bday is hitting me.  Maybe it's because Casey is the last baby, maybe it's because it means I am getting OLD - who knows but it hit me pretty hard this weekend!
I swear to you that when I look at Casey and I still see a newborn baby with flaming red hair, helplessly sweet in my arms.  But in all actuality she is turning 3 today - UGH!
Casey is AMAZING and keeps us on our toes and keeps laughter in our home.  She loves with everything she has and most days she can't walk past us without a hug, kiss or at least a little touch.  She is in fact a TRUE redhead.  Sweet as can be but then one thing doesn't go her way and the beast is unleashed!!  But those moments don't last too long and then she is right back to being her sweet little self.
We could not have chosen a better child to complete our family and we look forward to the years that follow with our BABY - Yes she will always be our baby!
Here a little collage from the weekend...

Princess Cake...
Those candles were out before we even got halfway through the Happy Birthday song - true Fire Fighter's kid huh?

Sweet Sydney ready to celebrate with Casey -
loosely translated means she was ready for her to open her presents
so she could steal them!

So excited about her Presents from Sydney (shopping cart) and from Christopher, Alisia and Kale (Princess purse)
Playing with her new "lipstick" and reading her Bday card.
Right here she is schooling Sydney on "this is mine - DON'T TOUCH!!!"

And then the gift from Mommy and Daddy...
A BRAND NEW BIKE!!

Happy Birthday to my baby girl.
You have added extra sparkle to my life for the last 3 years.
I love you Big - Super Big!

Little Zookeeper...

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Tonight Sydney had a little performance at school and luckily we were all home and able to attend. We got MUCH better seats than the Christmas program so we got to see everything. We loved watching her and look forward to many more years of her AND Casey doing it.

Casey was extremely happy about waiting for Sydney and the amazing possibility that she would not be the center of attention for a few minutes...

The Stage was set - Now just waiting for out little Zookeepers...

She is very focused here - this is the best picture I got the rest were a blurry mess.

But I did get a short video of Sydney singing her heart out!  It's definitely not Stephen Speilberg caliber but you get the idea...

Flower Power...

Monday, April 5, 2010

In school Sydney's class is discussing Spring and all the wonderful things that come with it to include FLOWERS!!!  So of course there was a project associated and it was to create a flower to be hung in the hallway for everyone to see using a dessert paper plate as the center.
Sydney and I thought about it and this is what we came up with...
I'm so proud of Sydney for the effort she puts forth and the pride she takes in her projects for school!

Easter at the Cobb's

Sunday, April 4, 2010

Another Easter has come and gone and just like Easter's of the past it was pretty low-key here at the Cobb house.
We dyed eggs...

 and did Easter baskets...

but Daniel was at work so that was the extent of our Easter this year.
The kids didn't seem to mind - they went played with their loot all day and ate WAY to much candy.

WAKE UP!!!

Monday, March 29, 2010

My kids are morning people - like really EARLY morning people!  Some mornings they will sleep until 7 (that's a treat) but one morning this past weekend they were up well before and I just couldn't get up.
So after a few failed attempts Sydney thought this was her best bet...

Translated Note:
please get up and please get our breakfast.

Needless to say I felt horrible and got right up.
I need to figure out what is going to keep these kids in bed a little longer so I don't have to start out my morning full of guilt.

Park City...

Thursday, March 18, 2010

If I could pick any place to have a vacation home the place at the very top of my list is Park City!  It really is a wonderful place to go visit and we make sure to hit it up every time we visit Utah.
The weather for our visit today was perfect - just right temps and there was still snow on the ground for the kids to see.  We walked up and down Main Street and then headed over to the outlets and did some shopping.

Sydney and Mom playing in the snow and a look down a crowded Main Street...

Another view of Main St. and a sign from one of the venue's that hosted the 2002 Winter games.
Christopher's downhill pose and my FAVORITE barn surrounded by snow!

This is a picture from the car on our way home from Park City - guess we left at just before the blizzard hit!
