Master closet...

Friday, June 26, 2009

To say that the master closet was what sold us on this house would be a total lie - We hated it.  It always looked crowded and there was SO much wasted space.  We recently decided to have a professional come look at it and he wowed us with a great design and we did it.  My newest love is my custom closet!!
I totally forgot to take before pictures but just picture a mess with shoes everywhere and very little organization and you'll get it!
Looking into the closet.
I love the drawers and shelving it lets us hide clothing and also get the shoes up off the floor..
To the right inside the closet.
My side...
More of my side...
My shoe rack...
I didn't realize how few shoes I have until I couldn't fill half of this!!
Daniel's side...
Needless to say I am so happy with the new space that was created - now I need to go shopping to fill it!!
Oh and this is what happens when you leave a 2 yr old in the bathroom for 2 minutes so you can take pictures of your new glorious closet...
Yes that is mascara!  What can you do?

More kitchen updates...

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

After the paint we added to the kitchen we thought there was only one thing missing... Knobs on our cabinets.  They looked naked and we had been trying to find them decoration since we moved in but could never find the one that was just right.  We finally found them!!!  I think that we made the right choice and NOW the kitchen feels complete or at least it does until I find curtains for the windows - hahahaha!

Before -
And the final look...

Wild Kingdom..

Monday, June 22, 2009

I think those of you that know me would agree that when it comes to any other animal besides dogs I think they are MUCH better at a distance - you know like behind plate glass at the ZOO!!
Since moving into this house we have had "Wild Animal" sightings like crazy.
We have a neighborhood owl that hangs out in the backyard, there are two VERY persistent barn swallows that try to nest in our entryway, we have had a snake in our front planter, we have heard coyotes in the field directly behind our house, we have had to deal with field mice a few times, rabbits eat things in my front planter, Rosco really ticked off a Raccoon one evening in the backyard (luckily he stayed perched on the rockwall and Rosco was easily swayed into the house with a pack of hotdogs) and I had to STOP mid-stride during a run one morning to let a deer cross in front of me - he wasn't going to slow down!
Anyway this morning I was running late and had forgotten my lifeline (aka - my phone) so I had to come home after dropping off the kids at daycare.  As I got out of the car I noticed something in the yard...
From this distance it seems to be a rock but then it moved...

Holy Crap there was a big ole' turtle in my front yard... I knew Sydney was going to be heartbroken to not see him so I ran inside and grabbed my phone (Of course) and the camera...

He wasn't to excited to see me and as soon as I walked away he was on the move again!!!
After getting home and telling Sydney about the turtle she was in fact devastated to not see him and we walked our whole yard just in case but in 100 degree weather I knew he was nowhere to be found!  She settled for the pictures and has told everyone she has seen about the turtle.
What's next at the Cobb Zoo??

Happy Father's Day...

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Happy Father's Day!!!
to all the Father's out there and most importantly the three most important Father's in my life!!!

Daniel - the best father I could have ever asked for my little girls to have!!  They couldn't have a stronger male figure in their life and they both ADORE you to no end!!  I love you more everyday because of the lessons you teach them, the confidence you give them and the care you put forth!!  You are the best and they are so LUCKY to have you!!

Daddy - I don't think that without your guidance and sometimes steep goals I would be half the woman I am today!  Now after passing those goals and seeing what it has gotten me I can appreciate and understand everything that you did.  Of course I never thought I could love you anymore but seeing you now as "Grandpa" makes my heart swell!!  You have always excelled in life but I think you have gone even further when it comes to my daughter's and that makes my life complete!  All of your girls love you sooo VERY MUCH!!!!

Christopher - I look at you and I swear I still see that annoying little brother that sometimes just needed a shove because you were looking at me funny BUT that isn't you anymore (at least not all the time).  You have matured into a GREAT man and an amazing father!  I love watching you with Kale and even with my girls!  Kale is very blessed to have me as an Aunt and also to have you as his father - hahahaha!!  We love you very much.

I hope you all have an amazing Father's Day and we wish we could all be together to celebrate it with you!  All my love to you all!!

What an improvement...

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Last year we started painting our home to warm it up and make it feel like home.  We picked very rich colors and loved them all except ONE!!!!

This is the breakfast nook (in the background) when we moved in...
Other side of the kitchen...
Then we did THIS... AAAHHHH!
and THIS...  In our defense when we brought home the color sample it looked more brownish orange and it just didn't turn out that way!
So we finally stopped pouting and went and bought our SAFE color Summer Pudding (or red) and repainted the kitchen this past week!  I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!!!
I love it and now I can finally finish decorating the rest of this area!!
Oh yeah - we liked it so much we decided that the dining room niche could use a little something and this is what it got!!
Two more rooms done with painting - Check, Check!!

Seriously...

Casey has definitely been my MOST devious child to date!!  First the crib and her expert escape tactics but lately it is escape tactics of another kind that have us going crazy!!

I blurred her cute butt because I don't think in a few years she'd appreciate her goodies being broadcast all over the world wide web.  But you get the idea...
See the diaper to her left!  And no I don't normally give her a cup at bedtime but it is filled with water and she HAD to have it on this night for some reason.
We have gotten SO desperate about her taking her diaper off we normally have to use packaging tape to keep it in place BUT on this night I forgot!!  Great because after snapping this picture I realized that I was a little to late because she was SOAKING wet!  Poor Baby!
What's next Casey?  You sure do keep us on our toes!!

My favorite tree...

Thursday, June 18, 2009

When we moved into this house there was a spot in our front planter that I knew would only be complete with a Crape Myrtle tree in it - so that is exactly what we put there.

This year it is just going CRAZY with flowers and is so stunning to see as you walk up to the door!  Luckily it is pretty tolerant to the HEAT because we live on the sun!!

Wicked!

Thursday, June 11, 2009

No not me  - The Broadway show Wicked!!
It is in San Antonio for the month of June and my neighbors Andrea and Matt invited me and Dawn to join them for a great dinner and an AMAZING show.  First we headed down to Boudros on the Riverwalk and had some GREAT food.  Anyone that comes to visit will be getting to taste it because we will be taking you there - whether you want to or not hahaha!  Then off to the Majestic for the show!  I LOVED the show and it makes me think about the Wizard of Oz in a whole new way!  I really recommend it to anyone that has the chance to see it!!  Worth it for sure!

Not often I like pictures of myself and I do like this one!
Ready for a night out!

Thanks SOOOO much Andrea and Matt for the invite!  I had a great time!

Model Babies...

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

On Sunday the 31st of May Dawn and I loaded the girls into the car and went up to Landa Park in New Braunfels to let her try her hand at her latest hobby - photography!
I am SOOOOO happy that she wanted to try this out because I am SOOOO lucky to have the pictures that she captured of my girls.  There were OVER 600 photos taken and I can honestly say I LOVE them all.  She captured moments that I would never have received from a studio portrait.
Here are just a FEW of my fav's.
Enjoy!

Ok I have to stop or there will be 600+ photos on here but you catch the drift!!
Some of these photos made my heart melt and took my breath away all in the same instant...
I will FOREVER cherish these!
Thanks SOOOO much Dawn!!
