The Thought That Counts...

Sydney is starting to become a little curious about death and the things that can lead to it and she has questions about it frequently.  I guess yesterday she asked Daniel about having a brain and why we needed it and this was the explanation I received this morning while I was getting dressed...

"Mommy wanna know what daddy told me?"

Kind of worried about what I might hear I replied  "Sure Syd"

"But don't cry cause it's sad, ok?"

Still worried I said "OK"

"Well Daddy told me that we have brains so it can tell our bodies what to do so we stay alive!  Mom did you know without a brain we couldn't live at all? We would be gross and dead without a brain!"

"I did know that baby but we don't have to worry about that!"

With that she gave me a long hug and said, "Mommy I am so glad that our family has brains!!"  

I couldn't have said it better myself Sydney!

Today is my Sisters (no in-law she is MY SISTER!!) birthday!!  I feel so fortunate that we were in Vegas so close to her birthday that we were able to hand deliver her card and gift!  I wish we could be there with her today to celebrate the actual day but we will be thinking of her all day and hoping that she has an amazing day with Christopher and Kale Bug!!

The girls wanted to pass on a special wish just from them...

Computer Time...

Thanks to Dawn I am now aware of a great thing for Sydney to do to keep her busy when I need just a few minutes to accomplish something... 

They are games for preschoolers that teach them adding, letters, reading and other basic computer skills.  It was a great change of pace for Sydney and it kept her busy all through Casey's naptime!  Thank you Disney.com!!

Can It Be?

That exactly two years ago at 6:01 pm Casey Morgan Cobb joined our family.  It truly doesn't seem possible!!  But it is true - here she is a few hours after birth...

And a recent photo of her...

Today we had a low-key family day to celebrate our little girl.  After a Skype session with Grandma, Grandpa, Christopher, Alisia and Kale Bug wishing our baby a Happy Birthday we took her to Toys R Us to get her gift.  We were a little lost because she has everything and only wants Elmo (which wasn't going to happen).  We settled on a pink wagon filled with blocks and an outdoor picnic table - both items were a big hit and both girls have played with them all day!  I made Casey some Elmo cupcakes which she loved.  Then we had her "favorite" dinner tacos with Avocado - which may be her favorite thing- you know besides everything else in the pantry!!

So excited and still "wearing" half her dinner!

It was a great way to celebrate the most amazing two year old I have ever met!!  

Happy 2nd Birthday my SWEET BABY GIRL!!

Our Last Day...

Today we spent our day just relaxing with plans to hit up the casino one more time before we go home - you know to try and recoup some of the money I lost - This time Daniel won it I lost it!!  We had a great homemade dinner courtesy of Alisia and then celebrated Casey birthday a couple of days early!!

Kale was not happy about being a present - but I would have been thrilled to open him up!!!

We had an amazing vacation that would not have been half as great if we didn't get to spend it with our family!!  Thanks so much Alisia, Christopher and Kale for letting us invade - we felt like we were at home in your beautiful home!!  Also thanks so much to you mom and dad - you guys always make everything special!!  WE LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!

Dinner with the Family...

After a day of outlet shopping for Alisia and I we all went to dinner at this AMAZING buffet in the Green Valley Ranch Casino!  I'm glad it was such good food - to include HUGE crab legs - because we waited in line for 2 hours for it!  the kids were amazing and there were more tantrums thrown by the adults.  Of course I did get a few cute pics while we waited to stuff ourselves...

Sightseeing and Show Watching!!!

Today we checked out the Las Vegas Strip!! It was pretty cold for Las Vegas - in the high 50's so we thought it might be a great day to do some looking around!!  We walked almost from one end to another with some stops in between like the M&M store and the Bellagio (they weren't doing the water show because of winds - UUGGHH). It was a great day overall... Followed by a great night. Grandma and Grandpa stayed back with the kids and Christopher, Alisia, Daniel and I got to go to the Venetian where we gambled a little (okay a lot) and then we watched Blue Man Group!!

Aliante Station...

There is a new casino that is pretty close to Christopher's house called Aliante Station and Alisia had the best idea - get a room and the next day we could use the pool...

We all decided that Grandma and Grandpa should stay and they wanted to bring Sydney - of course I wouldn't argue with that so off they went!  Today we swam around in the nice warm heated pool for awhile then it was inside the casino to hunt down some food and spend a little money on gambling!

Viva Las Vegas!!!

 Today we were up soo early but for a good reason - Sunny Las Vegas was calling our name!!!  After a couple of flights we were there by mid-morning - just in time to celebrate Christopher's birthday and have a great dinner at a casino and the best birthday BUNDT cake ever!!

Happy Birthday Baby Brother...  

Christopher Daryl it is hard to believe that you are 27 today!  I remember you as the most annoying little brother in the world - which you still are!! BUT you have also evolved into a great husband, father, uncle and Air Traffic Controller (I'm still better!!)  So glad we will be there to celebrate with you!!
