Little Girl Style!!!

Today upon arriving home the girls found Addie outside coloring the sidewalk - and a little bit of herself - with some chalk.  Sydney couldn't resist the urge to get chalk on every bit of exposed skin and jumped right in.  Casey a little apprehensive at first soon followed.  Needless to say it was straight into the bathroom for baths after this...

Happy Valentines Day...

Saturday, February 14, 2009

Sooo hard to believe it is February 14th.  Quite frankly without out the stores jam packed with red, pink and purple "Love" stuff I wouldn't believe it.
The girls had their Valentine Parties at school yesterday and were loaded up with some "love" yummies that I am avoiding like the plague...

Sydney ready to go with her tray of Mini-Cupcakes for her friends...

Casey with her bag full of Valentines - She is excited because she thinks she getting one of Sydney's cupcakes...

Daniel and I aren't much for the traditional Valentine day stuff - we don't do dinner, cards, candy or flowers.  We prefer to put the kids to bed and watch a movie - which I inevitably will fall asleep half way through.
But for the kids sake we do have a little family tradition... When I was growing up my fathre was always my Valentine so when Sydney was born she was instantly Daniel's valentine and Casey is mine!  So we buy the girls a little something each year...

Daniel bought Sydney a Flower ballon - Sydney said it makes her feel special that her Valentine (Daddy) can actually give her gifts cause "he has money!!!!"

I got this massive Monkey ballon for Casey she keeps running over to it and screaming ( yes SCREAMING) OOHH, OOHH, AAH, AAH and laughing.  Worth every penny just to see how much fun she is having with it...

This morning Sydney and I made some Valentine Cookies to take to daddy at the Fire Department later and also some to give to  Adeliade.
I thought it was adorable when I walked around the counter and saw this...

Hope you all have a Great Valentine's Day!!!!

Hats...

Sunday, February 8, 2009

I am a huge fan of putting cute hats on the kids and taking pictures of them - Why?  They are too cute to walk by and I'm not putting them on my head so my sweet girls get all the fun!!!

Casey hates it but sometimes I am able to snap the picture before the tears start and the hat is ripped off...  She'll get used to it!!!
Sydney on the other hand is such a HAM that she looks for things to put on her head so she can have her picture taken!!

NOTHING LIKE A...

SISTER...

I never thought my girls would be sooo close so early into their life.  They are true best friends and I can only pray it stays that way far into the future!!!

Big Girl So Soon...

Casey's room this morning...

Casey's room this afternoon...

Sydney recently showed Casey how to escape from her crib - What are big sister's for huh???
After I removed the bumper pad it seemed to stop and I even thought she might have forgotten about it until last night.  Casey woke me up every 30 minutes or so by getting up on the side of my bed and saying, "MOOMMMYY!"  So after an exhausting evening we decided that it was best to put her into her toddler bed to avoid a potential injury for our little Houdini .
We weren't sure how she would do but at bed time she was ready for her big girl bed that we had hyped up all afternoon.  She crawled right into bed and even told Sydney "OUT".  We turned out the light and she was sleeping in minutes!!
Stop growing up so quickly sweet baby!!!

Cancer Free - yipee!!!

Thursday, January 29, 2009

As some of you may or may not know I had a small growth that had taken up residence on my forehead. It first made it's apperance around May of 2008. It started out really pink, flaky and would sometimes become irritated and bleed.  At the time I ignored it because I had my whole gallbladder thing going on but the time came and after plenty of harping from Daniel and Mom I made an appointment.  The dermatologist was optimistic from the start that it was a common little growth but said it would be stupid to not check it out - especially with my skin type.  So he scraped my forehead and sent the sample off for a biopsy.  Worst part about it was how horrible my forehead looked for about a week - like I had been burnt with a cigar!  But totally worth the piece of mind that it was in fact NOTHING CANCEROUS!

Yay - now if I can just manage to stay out of the sun FOREVER!!!

Haven't forgotten...

Sunday, January 25, 2009

I know, I know I am slacking in the Blog posting area but you have to understand life at the Cobb house right now.
Christmas came and went and then of course we had Mom here for a week which explained that lack of posting for a week.
Then mom left and Casey got sick - Casey had just finished antibiotics for strep throat when we found out that she had a double ear infection.  She had tubes put in her ears last Christmas but they started to fall out (which is what they are supposed to do) and she immediately got ear infections so she may have to have tubes put back in but at this point it is the waiting game!!
Also at the start of the new year Daniel and I both started focusing on adding more excercise to our life.  We both know how to eat - I mean I have been on a diet my entire adult life - but we weren't doing any extra activity.  So I started running and man do I love/hate it with a passion.  During the actual act of running I loathe it but give me a hot shower and an hour to recover and I love the way it makes me feel - more energized, healthier and confident in my bodies abilities!!
That is why I haven't posted much lately - it hasn't been the most news worthy month here at the Cobb house.  BUT don't give up on us yet for I'm sure it will pick up sooner or later!!!

Now that is sleepy!!!

Saturday, January 24, 2009

The other night Daniel came and got me and told me to get the camera.  So I did and this is what I saw when I entered Casey's room...

I thought it was hilarious but after a closer look I saw something that made me a little nervous...
Almost her entire head was wrapped in her 30 or so blankets she must have to sleep every night.  So I quickly snapped pictures of her (I mean I knew she was breathing and what would good would this post be without pictures) then I repositioned my sweet baby who never knew any better!!!

Happy Birthday...

Saturday, January 17, 2009

Today Sydney and Casey went to a birthday party for Sarah Beth - one of Sydney's classmates!  They had a great time playing in the Princess jumpy castle and eating everything they could find.  What kind of mom would I be if I didn't let them enjoy a birthday party to the fullest extent - even if it means a sugar induced coma???  Sydney was so excited about the party she picked out the gift all by herself, helped me wrap it and also helped make the card.  Luckily the sugar rush didn't last long and both girls took naps after coming home so I could have a little time to unwind.  Now all Sydney wants to discuss is her party - in JULY!!!

Sydney ready to go Celebrate with Sarah Beth!!!

Sydney and the Birthday girl having hot dogs...

Sydney and Joy (our one and only babysitter) trying to escape the CRAZY kids in there!!

It is scary how much Sydney seems to be enjoying this cake - Like Mother Like Daughter!!

Sorry no pics of Casey because she was either glued to my hip or running full speed toward the cookie tray!!!

Goodbye's Stink...

Monday, January 12, 2009

It is never easy to say goodbye to my family - we are all very close and the distance really STINKS!!!
Mom left today and it was probably the hardest goodbye yet!  Sydney is old enough to know that Grandma won't be here tomorrow and she was absolutely heartbroken - Which makes mom and I sob like babies!!!  We are very excited that we get to see all of them again in April - hopefully in Vegas - YAY!!!  Until then we fill the void of distance by skyping with each other and talking on the phone a very "unhealthy" amount (hahaha).
Before she left we got a couple of very cute pics and I thought I'd share..

Grandma and her girls!!
Grandma and her favorite Son-in-law (so what if he's the only one)!!
WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH MOM AND MISS YOU JUST AS MUCH!!!!
THANKS FOR COMING TO VISIT!!

Ice Cream Sundae's...

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Tonight mom invited Adelaide over to make Ice Cream Sundae's with Sydney. With both kids in their jammies they were ready to get creative with their food...

They were so excited to be able to make whatever they waned (you know - within reason of course).  After all was said and done both girls were thrilled with their creations and had nice full bellies and were excited for the next time they got to make Sundae's together...

Cooking with Grandma...

Saturday, January 10, 2009

Saturday we had the Braun Family coming over for dinner so that morning we were trying to get some of the food pre-made.  Of course that included dessert and when my kids smell anything with sugar cooking they want to "help" and help they did...

Aren't they funny???

Mommy Night...

Last week flew by and before we knew it was Friday which meant - GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!!!  So plans were made and Joy came over to keep an eye on my little ones so we could go have a little time away.  Dawn, Mom and I went to La Hacienda De Los Barrios and had a great time.
The food and margarita's were great but the company really completed the evening!!
Thanks Mom and Dawn - I had a blast!!!!

Just so you know - The picture below is after a few Margarita's -
I don't normally look like I'm going to fall asleep at the table!!!

She's HERE!!!!!!

Monday, January 5, 2009

I am soooo looking forward to the rest of this week!!!  Thankfully it took Casey all of 4 minutes to "warm up" and it has been nothing but Grandma since.  I'm sure the house will be full of baby laughs and pleads from Sydney for Grandma to "stop talking with mommy and play".  I wish the rest of the family could be here but hopefully we will be taking a little vacation to Las Vegas in April (guess I should have asked Christopher and Alisia first) and then we can all be together - until then mom has her hands full with the girls!!!

Happy New Year...

Thursday, January 1, 2009

I hope everyone had a good night ringing in the New Year!!!  We went next door for a delicious dinner with the Braun family followed by a night of Guitar Hero on the Wii and other games...  It was a great night and luckily we were able to spend it with great people!!!  Thanks Dawn and Jamison!!!

Wow can you believe it is already 2009?  I sure can't!!  This past year has been a great one for the Cobb family and we only expect the same from 2009.  What blows my mind is that this year Sydney will start school - where has the time gone???  I made a New Year resolution to  exercise more (or in my case at all) and I'm pretty excited to start doing that with motivation from Dawn.

I hope you all have a VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!!
