Sydneys Tree...

I went next door the other day to bug Dawn and check out all her Christmas decorations and she showed me the cutest thing.  A perfectly sized PINK tree that she picked up for Addie at WalMart!  Of course when Sydney saw it she was totally into the idea of having her own tree but I was worried because Casey is a little monster and would destroy it within seconds - right?  Wrong!! Dawn gave me a great idea and I think it will work out without any tears or broken ornaments!!!   I love that I can do these things for my little girls!  Next year I am sure that Casey will  have her own tree but probably the purple one!!!

I'm way behind...

I thought I posted yesterday but when I came in here tonight I saw that I hadn't posted day #4 yet so it is here combined with day #5.  ENJOY!!!

So Day of Thanks #4 of 6...

Today I am thankful for sleeping children... Although I couldn't love anything or anyone more than I love my girls sometimes the sweetest moment of the day is when they are sound asleep and I can have a little mommy time!!!

Aren't they sweet??

Day of Thanks #5 of 6...

At this moment I am beyond thankful for the sacrifice that the men and women serving our country have made.  I was one of the very few that while serving didn't have to leave my family and go to war.  It hurts my heart to think that there are men and women doing just that right now and that because they serve and defend our great nation they won't get to see and in some instances even talk to their family during this holiday season.  I at least hope they know that the vast majority of this country supports them and their efforts aren't in vain.
Thank You to anyone that is currently serving or has at one time or another served this country!!!

Day of Thanks #3 of 6...

Monday, November 24, 2008

So today I'm totally thankful for my neighbor, Dawn! Not only are we soooo much alike in a ton of ways ( I mean it's creepy sometime) but our children are close in age and our husbands get along. She is my shopping buddy - which is great cause Daniel hates shopping!! She satisfies my craft addiction and she has even introduced a new one (stamping!). Dawn is a really amazing person that I'm lucky enough to have right next door!! Yay for good friends!!!

Day of Thanks #2...

My Parents and My Brothers Family...

You know I go to work and I hear people groan about their parents or that they haven't talked to their siblings in months or years and I think, "That must be horrible!"
I am quite the opposite!!  I hate that there is distance between me and my family! HATE IT!! I don't think I could be happier if my parents said they were moving in right next door. (Not your house Dawn - I want you to stay!!)
My parents are so very supportive of Daniel and I.  They adore my husband and my children almost as much I as I do - sometimes more than I do!  Most importantly they are there when we need them (which is daily)  - THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!  WE LOVE YOU TONS!

Now my brother and I have always loved each other but we DID NOT like each other growing up!!  Of course that has changed!!  My brother has turned into a great man.  He choose the BEST wife ever, Alisia,  and they have introduced the sweetest little guy into our family.  Kale is a whole separate reason to be thankful this year.  Alisia is an AMAZING mother and they are both doing a great job with him!!  I pray that by some miracle Christopher's next orders will be to San Antonio or at least somewhere in driving distance!!!  We love you all so very much!!!

Day of Thanks #1 of 6...

Saturday, November 22, 2008

Since Thanksgiving is 6 days away I thought it would be fun to blog everyday about what I am thankful for!!

Day #1 -
My Children and My Husband...

-Daniel is truly my other half - without him I couldn't function.
-Sydney and Casey are the reason I was put on earth.

I thank God everyday for allowing these three amazing people to be brought into my life.  So here is to Daniel, Sydney and Casey - as Sydney would say - "I love them more than all the stars in the sky!"

Completely unrelated:  Okay as you can see I am in the Xmas spirit a little early - I held off as long as I could!!
Also I wanted to post a picture of my first Christmas decoration.  Daniel doesn't want to decorate for Christmas yet - Scrooge!!!  But I couldn't resist this super cute tree on sale at Hobby Lobby today.  And since I won't go into the attic (because I am afraid of it) and get the Christmas stuff out myself - I bought the tree and put it up on the server in the dining room!!  I have a ton more to put up but this is a CUTE start!!!

Casey Morgan...

Friday, November 14, 2008

Casey is almost 19 months old but due to vacation and the Dr's schedule she just had her 18 month check-up on the 10th.  So let me tell you a little bit about our precious girl...

At 18 months Casey is 32.75" tall and weighs in at 27lbs 5 oz.  This is the 90th percentile for both categories!!
Casey is the healthy eater in the house!!  She will put away her dinner some of mine and still have room for dessert!  Luckily she loves veggies and other foods that don't make me feel guilty as she shovels them in!
The list of things she can say is long but here are a few of my favorite -  "MomMEEEE", "DAADAA", "MINE", "Yes", "NO", "BUBBA", "Puppy", "Hot", "More" (and she does the sign language for more.), "Hi", "BUH-BYE".
Casey is a bruiser and won't take crap from anyone especially Sydney.
On the other hand she is very sensitive and it doesn't take much to "hurt" her feelings and make that bottom lip pop out!!
Casey is devious and if left alone for a split second will find a way to cause trouble. (she gets that from her father!!)
Casey loves her family.  The light in her eyes when she sees me after a long day or when Daniel gets home from work is enough to melt your heart!
She still naps for a couple hours mid-day and then sleeps about 11 hours a night!
Has a great sense of humor and loves to make others laugh.  Her laugh is infectious and is the sweetest sound after a tough day!!
She loves books.  She loves her Sock Monkey.
She has an absolute shoe obsession.  Hers, mine, Sydney's or Daniel's it doesn't matter!!
Much to our dislike she loves her Pacifier!!!
Casey can't be explained properly on here - She is just something you have to see for yourself!!!  AMAZING!!!

I never thought there would be another person on this planet that amazed me and captured my heart like Sydney did and look what I had - Casey Morgan!!!
I have been blessed to get to raise these little girls and can't wait to see what their future holds!!!

The dreaded...

DENTIST - at least for me!! My kids didn't seem to be phased much!!!

This was Casey's first visit and it is a male dentist so the combination of that was a little upsetting but she did great!  Actually I think I was more nervous than they were...

The great news is that neither of them have any cavities or signs of cavities!! YAY!!!  Sydney's X-rays showed that her adult teeth are ready and waiting (anytime between 5 and 7 they should start to make an appearance).  He liked the spacing and the overall mouth health of both girls!!  He confirmed that Casey had in fact just gotten 4 new teeth and was about to get some molar's in the back of her mouth - YES MORE TEETHING!!!!  Nothing concerning though and we don't have to return for another 6 months!!!

Happy Birthday to my Best Friend...

Monday, November 3, 2008

Yes,  ladies and gentlemen Daniel is 29 tomorrow!!  Daniel and I met in Oct 1999 when we were both babies at 19 years old.  It is hard to believe that the two "kids" that met back then are now the child raising, mortgage paying, future planning adults that we are now!!

All I really know is that for the past 9 years and counting - I couldn't imagine another man in my life.  I have truly chosen the best man for myself and the best father for our little girls!!!
I look forward to another 9 years - then after that I'll see how your holding up and decide if you get another 9!! Hahahahaha!!

I love you more and more everyday OLD MAN!!!

YAY - Halloweenie...

Saturday, November 1, 2008

We had such a blast last night with the kids!! Everyone dressed up and took the girls Trick-or-Treating... Words will not do it justice so here are the pictures that captured our little ladybug, our princess witch, the cowboy sheriff, the crazy clown, the doctor, the two kitty's and a Pimp!!!

Earlier in the day while shopping Sydney wanted a kitty face and some "bubba" teeth!!

Hello I'll be your Dr. today .... YUCK!!!

Casey was not a big fan of her ladybug costume but she ended up having fun also...

Grandma and her pimp hahahaha...

My pretty witch!!

I'm a P-I-M-P baby!!

Yes there were tears here...

Grandma and Sydney ready to go!
Alisia Kitty!

And the Cowboy Sheriff - not feeling well but looking adorable!

My favorite Sister!!!

Mommy and her little man and a pimp in the background!

Sydney had so much fun Trick-or-Treating...

I love her...

Wow what is with that face...

We head home tonight and I'm not excited!  It stinks to leave family but we had an amazing time while we were here!!!

Vacation Day 4...

Friday, October 31, 2008

We had a family portrait done this afternoon (right at nap time so you can imagine how well the children cooperated!!!)  then off to lunch (still during nap time - we are REALLY crazy!)

We came home for a little bit before I had to take Daniel to the airport - he couldn't stay the whole visit because he couldn't get Halloween off from work!!  When I came home we just relaxed until it was pumpkin carving time and it was really fun to do it with everyone - especially my dad because he has NEVER carved a pumpkin before and I doubt it will ever happen again since it made him gag!!!

Here are some pics of the gang...

Sydney being the Diva that she is thought the insides were "DISGUSTING!!!"

Getting dirty...

Mommy and Sydney's Pumpkin...  I thought it wasn't going to turn out but it did and I'm proud of our Skull and Crossbones!!!!

Christopher carved this one because it means A Lot in this house.  My parents, brother, and Sister-in-law's last name is Casey as well as my daughters first name.  It is Kale's initials. Also Christopher and I both use "KC" as our work initials!!  So this one was only fitting!!!

And the all of the carved Pumpkin's - Dad did the Apple Symbol and Alisia did the Wink emoticon - :) - Didn't they all turn out great?

Can't wait to go Trick-or-Treating with the kids tonight!!

Vacation Day 2 and 3...

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

We have been pretty busy!!!  So this post will be a collection of pics!!!

Alisia and Kale arrived Tuesday morning and it was AMAZING to finally meet the sweetest little guy ever!!!

Went to the Pumpkin Patch that evening...

Sydney wasn't so sure about the Hay slide but Casey couldn't get enough!!!

I couldn't get enough snuggle time with this little guy ever!!

Sydney was done at this point!!!

Sydney and Kale - How Stinkin' Sweet???

Christopher got in at like 4am Wednesday so after a morning of rest and "relaxation" (as much as you can with kiddos running around!) we headed to downtown Salt Lake on the train!!!
Strike a pose!

A super happy Casey with her Grandma...

The splash park downtown - Sydney was so disappointed that it was too cold!!!
We are having a great time and don't want it to end!!!

Vacation Day 1...

Monday, October 27, 2008

Today was quite a busy day...

The girls found all the BEAUTIFUL fall leaves in Grandma's backyard and spent most the morning outside playing...
Yes Casey is still in her PJ's no time to change clothes when there are leaves to
play with...

After we got ready we thought we might try a family picture - who would have thought it would be difficult.  Here are all of our attempts!!!
Only Daniel was focused this time around...

Then Sydney thought it would be fun to throw leaves!

Can you see that I have given up at this point???

We did a couple of cute ones...

Then we took a drive up into the mountains to see the amazing fall colors and let Sydney see some real Mountains and it was great!!!  For some reason i didn't get any pictures of the colors but I did get these pictures and I thought they were amazing...

After this we dropped off Daniel and a very sleepy Casey and went to get Sydney's haircut!  Yes Sydney officially received her first haircut - about 3 or 4 inches!!!  Before we even got to the salon we saw a field of Pumpkins that it looked like they were plowing to start a housing development so we jumped out and Sydney and Grandma got quite a few pumpkins.

Sydney with her all HER pumpkins!!!

And then it was time for the haircut...

She did a great job (even though she looks scared to death)!!  Sydney even made us laugh - The woman asked her "How are we gonna cut your hair today?"
Sydney replied, "Ummm, with scissors!!!"
We laughed so hard because obviously she was asking what style she wanted but to Sydney there was only one answer for that question!!!

Needless to say we had a great day and the girls were exhausted!!!  Tomorrow Kale and Alisia get here and we are going to the pumpkin patch!!
