Time to Party...

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

It was the girls Easter Party at school today and they were so excited!! So with buckets full of stuffed eggs for hiding, a huge bag of M&M's and some Peeps they were off to school!!
Here they are before we left - I would have taken a picture after the party but it was nothing but tears as they came spiraling down from their sugar high!!

Look at Rosco praying that something leaps out of those eggs so he can snatch it up!!

Nothing Like...

Pictures while you are sweaty, hot AND so excited about what you just accomplished!!  Here are a few pics (the few that were the least NASTY of me) of us after our 5k on Saturday!!

Warriors in Pink...

Saturday, April 4, 2009

Today was a HUGE milestone in my life!!  I ran my very first 5k (which is 3.1 miles)  and it was for an AMAZING cause!!  It was the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!
As I mentioned a few months back Dawn and I started running as a New Years resolution.  At that point I HATED running it was evil - little did I know that 4 months later it would be a passion of mine.  I love the way I feel after a good run and the fact that it has helped me lose around 12 - 15lbs already makes it extra AWESOME!!!
Anyway we saw this opportunity and registered with a goal - to run without stopping in our first 5k!!  Daniel joined us for the run and not only did we not stop at all we finished in 30 minutes!! I was shocked and so proud of all of us!!  I can promise you this won't be the last race that we do.

Look at what I got...
My amazing friend and neighbor Andrea made Dawn and I both a big pink ribbon for encouragement!  Wish she could have been with us but she was doing a Ironman in New Orleans this weekend and she rocked it!!!  Thanks Andrea I'm saving it...
Before the race - both us of are tired and a little nervous!
One last picture before we left - Don't we look excited???

I don't have any finish line pics - Jamison, Dawn's husband took those so they are on her camera.  If I can snag a few I'll do a later post with a few of them so you can see the exhaustion BUT also the pure joy on our faces!!

Amazing...

Dawn received an amazing camera for her birthday and thankfully she loves taking pics with it! She has snapped quite a few pics of the girls that make my heart melt when  I look at them - they are really great from the color down to the faces she was able to capture!!  Here are a few that I love...

Great huh?  Thanks so much Dawn for capturing these precious moments of my babies!!!

Sunshine Divas...

Sunday, March 29, 2009

The girls love wearing sunglasses which is funny to me because we avoid the sun in this house like the plague!  I might have to open the blinds in this dungeon so they don't start walking into things!!!

Sleeping Beauty...

I went to check on Casey before I called it a night and this is what I found...
Not really all that surprised by the way she is laying because she rarely sleeps the way she is supposed too but look closely - do you see it?
Yup she is wearing her new shoes.  She DID NOT go to bed that way so sometime between when I put her down and when I checked on her she climbed out of bed in the dark, found these shoes in the dark , put them on the correct feet and fell soundly asleep!!  At least she still had her clothes on - lately she has been known to strip naked.

Hide and Seek...

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Apparently we were playing today and NOBODY let me in on that tidbit of info.  I was cleaning and Casey usually follows me around and "helps" - she may not accomplish much but at least I know were she is.  So this afternoon when I realized my little shadow had disappeared I went looking.  Not upstairs - the gate was still up blocking the stairs - no worries.  The pantry (her favorite room) was dark and Casey free - no big deal.  Her room, Sydney's and their bathroom were all clear - my heart started beating a little faster.  She has been known in desperate times to climb out the doggy door but she won't go off the back porch but that was empty - panic set in.  I was in my bedroom at the time so she couldn't have possibly been in there so I just started screaming her name.  Sydney came running but NO CASEY!!  Then I got scared so I turned off the TV, dishwasher and the dryer so I could hear.  Said her name again and I heard it a VERY faint little giggle, then again - it was coming from my closet.  So I walked slowly in that direction saying her name and following the giggle.  Flipped the light on and this is what I found...
Yes, those are her feet!!! She was hiding very well right behind Daniel's work pants.  Luckily the camera was in my bedroom huh?
After snapping the first picture she started bellying laughing and peeked out at me - who at this point was laughing through my tears!  That kid is so devious!!! Seriously I think she took 10 years off my life today but she had fun doing it - that's what matters right?

Ummm...

Does this require an explanation????

Rollie Pollie...

While Sydney was in swim lessons I put Casey into a Rollie Pollie tumbling class.  It's a mommy/daddy and baby kind of class so Casey and I got to do all kinds of different excercises.  I thought it would be easier to have her doing something rather than having to chase her around the waiting area...
I am excited to have both girls involved in some type of activity...

It was a ton of fun - who knows maybe we have a future gymnast on our hands??

Swim Lessons...

This morning Sydney had her very first swim lesson.  I'll admit I was nervous about how she would do - last summer she was DEATHLY AFRAID of any pool that she saw.  We knew that swim lessons would be great for her but weren't sure she'd even get near the water to try.  So we talked about it everyday, showed her pictures from the website, let her ask all the questions she needed to and finally we let her pick out a new swimsuit and towel just for class...

Here is our little Super Model posing in her new swimsuit and shorts.  Doesn't she look so old?
We arrived early enough for her to see the earlier class doing some stuff and she got very excited.  The longer we waited the more anxious she got and when they opened the door for her to go she almost pushed her "swim coach" down.  I wasn't able to watch the whole time I had to do tumbling with Casey (which was probably a blessing - she wouldn't have focused and would have been looking for me the whole time).
Sydney conquered her fear and did everything the coach asked her to do...  She put her face under and blew bubbles, she used a kick board to learn how to kick, she learned to backfloat, she jumped in and went down the water slide!!! She told me when class was over that she was afraid but she just stayed quiet and it went away and she had soooo much fun.  I am sooo proud of her and hope the excitement lasts.  Here are few more pictures I was able to snap before, during and after class.

Kissy, Kissy!!!

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Ever since we put a stop to the pacifier not only has Casey started talking SOOOOO much more but she is also so into giving everyone in the house 500 kisses...
Tonight she made her attack on Daniel and I was able to capture it midsession...

I love the way she holds your face with her little hands and just keeps laying the kisses on until you pry her off or something else catches her attention!

Kindergarten...

Monday, March 9, 2009

In a few short short months my firstborn BABY will be starting kindergarten.  It really makes me want to cry but I am holding off the tears for the moment...
Today we took Sydney to her elementary school for a tour.  She will be attending Paschal Elementary about a mile up the road and we are all SOOOO excited.  The school is not only beautiful on the inside but the the teachers and faculty are amazing also!!  The school recieves top honors each year in elementary education.  It is the school we have wanted Sydney to attend since before she was even born for those exact reasons!  We can't wait for Sydney to be a Paschal Patriot - well I can wait but her and Daniel wish it would happen tomorrow!

Bye-Bye Pacifier...

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Last Friday Daniel forgot to take a paci to school with Casey.  That is usually a HUGE issue and we apologize to her teacher over and over BUT apparently is wasn't even missed.  Daniel and I discussed it and thought that since there was no illness or other circumstance that would make her especially needy that we were taking the paci away!!  Believe me there was total fear in our hearts - neither of us were looking forward to a battle of wills with our almost 23 months old daughter.  Mostly because I think we both knew that she would win if the screaming went on long enough.
But Casey shocked us again - she asked for it at bedtime that night and when told that, "Paci's are for babies and she's a big girl" she moved right along!  Went to sleep without one single issue and stayed that way ALL NIGHT PACI FREE!!!!  The next morning I removed the paci's from the cabinet that they stayed in and when asked that morning for a paci I simply opened the cabinet showed her the empty space and repeated the same thing I said the night before and off she went - unfazed!!
Could it have really been that simple you might ask?  Yes it was!!  Casey has been paci free for over a week and it doesn't bother her one little bit!!

Here are the paci's I found on "The Great Paci Hunt".  They were hidden all over the house and in my car!!  Not to mention all the ones from the cabinet and dishwasher!

Adelaide's Party...

Sunday, March 1, 2009

Last weekend we helped Adelaide celebrate her 4th birthday - Fairy Style!!!  It was a blast for all of us - even me!!  Dawn out did herself putting this party together - face painting, princess tattoo's,  a jumpy castle inflated for all the Princess', they all decorated their own magic wands, food to fill us so very full, gorgeous fairy wings,  a fairy/butterfly hunt and yummy cotton candy!  Needless to say after getting home BOTH kids passed out - what a great treat for mommy!!!

The Birthday girl and her Barbie Fairytopia cake...

Sydney and Adelaide eating "Fairy Floss!!"

Casey showing me where she puts her food!!!

Sydney striking her "sweet" pose - two minutes later I got to see her "I'm the boss" pose!

For some reason Casey just kind of hung there. Doesn't look very comfy but she wasn't crying so I left her there to watch all the little girls going crazy!
We really enjoyed being able to help celebrate a special birthday for such a special little girl!!  Thanks for the invite Braun Family!!  Happy 4th birthday Adelaide!!!
